Looking for a CNC programmer and operator familiar with 4 and 5-Axis milling machines. Responsible for programming and machining to print, complex geometries with tight tolerances in various materials.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Independently program, set up and run 4 and 5-Axis CNC milling machines and CNC turning machines.
- Must have programming experience with MasterCAM software
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and/or sketches of part to determine final product
- Perform the best practices in implementing cutting toolpath, cutting parameters, post-processing, cutting tools and cutting fluids
- Utilizing precision measuring equipment to verify proper dimensions and tolerances are achieved and maintained
- Design and make fixtures for parts machining
- Meeting and maintaining established production standards and quality
- Must have experience operating manual lathes and milling machines
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in mechanics or a related field is an asset
- Minimum 5 experience setting up and operating 4 and 5-axis CNC Milling Machines
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in CNC programming
- Experience with manufacturing precision-machined components
- Jobbing Shop Experience
- Ability to work in a fast paced/changing environment
- Experience setting up and operating CNC Lathe an asset
- Experience running manual lathe and milling machine a must
- Experience with MasterCAM a must
- Solidworks experience an asset
- Knowledge of cutting tool geometry
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment to verify product dimensions and quality
- Good communication and problem solving skills
