Fleet Mechanic - Town and Country Supplies
Pay: CA$29.15 – CA$35.00 per hour, negotiable for the right candidate
Job Summary
Town and Country Supplies & Rentals is a busy equipment rental shop offering a full line of rental equipment from heavy-duty machinery to small tools. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background with expertise in maintaining and repairing a wide variety of rental equipment. This role requires proficiency in mechanical repair, electrical systems, and the ability to work with both hand and power tools. The Fleet Mechanic will ensure that all equipment is operating efficiently and safely, providing excellent customer service while adhering to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of rental equipment, including forklifts, excavators, telehandlers, aerial equipment, generators, and compaction equipment
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and troubleshooting techniques
- Conduct electrical repairs and maintenance as needed
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various repair tasks
- Operate equipment safely during maintenance procedures
- Assist in the assembly of mechanical components as required
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each piece of equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with customers regarding equipment readiness and needs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing heavy lifting and operating industrial equipment
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of mechanical or heavy equipment experience required
- Previous experience in a dealership, rental, or similar environment is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with welding techniques, and general mechanical knowledge is highly desirable
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy loads consistently throughout the workday is required
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this role
