Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing detailed repair estimates, and providing exceptional service to our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repair processes for a DRP shop, excellent communication skills, and the ability to upsell additional services when appropriate. The estimator plays a key role in ensuring accurate repairs, efficient workflow, and customer satisfaction within our busy body shop environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess repair needs
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard software for insurance companies and for direct customers.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines
- Collaborate with technicians and parts departments to ensure timely repairs
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and concerns professionally
- Upsell additional services or repairs that may benefit the customer while maintaining transparency
- Handle cash transactions accurately when necessary
- Maintain organized records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback
- Order parts and follow up the delivery timeline.
Experience
- Prior DRP body shop experience is highly preferred, providing familiarity with automotive repair processes
- Mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience is advantageous for accurately assessing vehicle damage
- Strong customer service skills to build rapport and trust with clients
- Experience in automotive repair or collision estimating is beneficial
- Ability to upsell services tactfully while prioritizing customer needs
- Familiarity with automotive repair software and estimating tools is a plus
- Previous experience handling cash transactions demonstrates attention to detail and integrity

Pay: $45,433.08-$87,495.68 per year
