Reporting to the Manager, Administration and Finance (MAF), the Education Coordinator will provide administrative leadership to the education division within the Department of Surgery to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the department’s undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs. The role will ensure clear and current information is available and efficient processes are in place for academic leaders and staff within the programs, as well as for current and prospective students. The role will participate in the development, management, and implementation of academic plans, policies, and procedures related to Surgery’s academic programs, and identify opportunities for improvement, while ensuring adherence with university policies and procedures and accreditation standards. The Education Coordinator will oversee and participate in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating both new and ongoing programs and services to support teaching excellence for the Department of Surgery. The role will ensure that all surgical education programs meet accreditation standards, and oversee the development, maintenance and implementation of curricular activities that further strengthen the surgical education programs. The Education Coordinator will supervise education staff on their day-to-day functions and will provide coaching and training to ensure progression of day-to-day tasks. The Education Coordinator will provide comprehensive consultation on a variety of processes to ensure program stakeholders are served effectively.
