Pay Rate: $35–$37 per hour, with the potential for higher compensation based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Full-time hours (40h/week) - Rotating shifts from Monday to Friday every two weeks - (7:30 am to 3:30 PM / 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm / 11:30 pm to 7:30 am)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works according to the plant Health and Safety policies. Contributes to enhance the EH&S program.
Perform trouble shooting, calibration, and repair of production equipment as needed to always keep lines operational.
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to identify and replace failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, etc.
Can read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
Dismantles/disassembles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts, using specifications and/or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
Calibrations and adjustments on various types of devices and production control systems.
Understands facilities, mechanical/electrical systems and their component functions and relationships; and is competent in their troubleshooting and repair
Assist other maintenance and production team members as required in support of plant goals.
Equipment selection - able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform the work
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Industrial Mechanic Millwright STO certification or 433A Certificate of Qualification
Minimum three years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity in a production setting.
Demonstrated proficiency or documented certifications in the following skills: electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting/programming, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyors, hydraulics, and pumps.
Installation, troubleshooting, repair knowledge of electrical systems including 600v and below
Demonstrated proficiency or documented certifications for diagnosing & troubleshooting controls systems and devices
Able to interface and cooperate well with production line workers and supervisors, with a strong customer service mindset.
Demonstrated ability to identify areas of improvement driving efficiency, profitability, or safety improvements.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Basic math, reading, and computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, Outlook)
Manufacturing safety program familiarity (PPE, LOTO, Arc Flash)
Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking.
Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
Ability to operate cranes, forklift, and other related equipment
An ability to work solo as the sole mechanic on shift would be a great asset.
Strong fabrication skills, including MIG welding, to build or modify existing machinery.
Time management skillset to prioritize urgent repairs over scheduled repairs.
Must be adaptable to variable work schedules as well as being on-call.
Pride in workmanship and a willingness to learn.
Experience with plastic production equipment a plus.
