1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field including education, engineering, health, nursing or science, or equivalent combination of education and experience (post-secondary diploma in a related field and three years of direct work-based experience in Occupational Health and Safety).
2. Formal certificate or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
3. Two years of work experience as a practitioner in Occupational Health and Safety in the last five years.
4. CRSP certification (or the ability to obtain certification within two years of hire).
5. Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) designation is considered an asset.
6. Ability to apply the theory, practices and principles of adult education.
7. Effective communication (written and oral), interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work effectively within a team.
9. Small group facilitation skills and leading, modeling and teaching interaction skills.
10. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
11. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
