JOB OVERVIEW
We are hiring an experienced Residential Construction Carpenter for ongoing residential projects in the St. John’s area.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role best suited for someone dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working on active construction sites.
SCHEDULE
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- 30-minute paid lunch
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Construct, install, and repair residential structures and fixtures
- Perform general labour duties (material handling, loading/unloading, site prep)
- Operate hand tools safely and efficiently
- Follow drawings, instructions, and supervisor direction
- Assist other trades when needed
- Keep job sites clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- 4–5 years of construction experience (required)
- Residential experience considered an asset
Certifications
- Construction-related certification required
- Red Seal not required
Transportation
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle required
- Proof of insurance required
Tools Required
Must supply basic tools, including:
- Hammer
- Measuring tape
- Utility knife
- Standard hand tools
PPE & WORKWEAR
Not provided — must bring your own:
- Steel-toe boots
- Hard hat
- Safety vest
- Construction-appropriate clothing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Working at heights
- Long periods of standing
- Repetitive movements
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Active residential construction sites with exposure to:
- Heights
- Tools and machinery
- Building materials and general construction hazards
On-site supervision and established safety protocols are in place.
