Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our busy restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable kitchen experience and develop skills in food handling and safety.
Duties
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas
- Organize and store clean dishes and kitchen supplies efficiently
- Support food service staff with serving meals and setting up dining areas during busy hours
- Follow all food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Help with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need replenishing
- Assist in cleaning kitchen appliances and ensuring proper disposal of waste
Skills
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Knowledge of cooking, meal preparation, and food industry practices is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting
