White Meadows Farms operates 2 offsite retail store locations: The Maple Syrup Store at The Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls (Est. 2017) and our *NEWEST* Maple Syrup Store in Historic Old Town, Niagara on the Lake (Est. 2021). Each retail store offers top quality maple products with an authentic educational experience. With every transaction, customers are given the opportunity to learn about the uniqueness of maple syrup and immerse themselves in every step of the production process.
Job Description: "Seasonal Maple Syrup Retail Associate"
We are seeking a full-time Seasonal Retail Associate for our Maple Syrup Store location in Niagara on the Lake. The successful candidate will be the ultimate people-person and a natural born story-teller. Your role will be to provide an exemplary customer service experience and educate our customers about all things maple related. We require professionalism, poise and a knack for problem solving. Base Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year customer service in retail (preferred)
- A general interest in artisan & locally produced goods
- Full-time, Weekday & Weekend availability
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift at least 25lbs
- Comfortable standing for prolonged periods
- Second language is an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for cash handling and sales transactions.
- Engage customers by explaining the maple syrup production process using our educational shadow boxes and photos.
- Offer and present samples of our four distinct maple syrup flavours and other gourmet products made at our local farm.
- Answer questions about our products, their ingredients, and our farm's practices with enthusiasm and knowledge.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the retail space, sample station, and displays.
- Restock merchandise and ensure shelves are tidy and well-presented.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols when handling samples and open products.
- Assist with inventory tracking and receiving stock, as needed.
- Manage time effectively to meet customer needs during peak hours.
- Contribute to a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for both customers and team members
