Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools to ensure high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.
Shifts:
7am to 4pm Monday to Friday
4pm to 3am Monday to Thursday (paid for full 40 hours but off Fri/Sat/Sun )
$1.00/hr shift premium on Afternoons
Shifts DO NOT rotate
Responsibilities
- Execute all the weld procedures required in the welding area, including the necessary preparation, such as grinding or arc air
- Understand welding procedures and practices including welding symbols
- Grind and clean using a wire wheel
- Be able to perform basic visual weld inspections appearance, fusion, penetration, etc.
- Reading and interpreting drawings· Understand material characteristics and requirements (i.e.: thickness, width, sweep and camber tolerances)
- Operation and limitation of all machinery and equipment in area
- Be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation as per the Physical Demands Analysis
- Material handling techniques (use of cranes, slings, etc)
Requirements
- Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding within manufacturing, construction, or related environments
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery, schematics, and blueprint reading skills
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting devices, press brake machines, and welding equipment
- Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment safely
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during fabrication processes.
Education & Requirements
- Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent as a minimum.
- Must obtain Welders certificate or ticket (MCAW E491C-6M-H4/H8)
- Maintain a level of education necessary to keep pace with new manufacturing technology and company requirement
