Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and professional Security Officer's for the Long Plain First Nation Security Services Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, conducting patrols, and implementing loss prevention strategies. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. Prior experience in law enforcement or security is preferred however training is provided for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to detect suspicious activity and ensure security protocols are followed
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security risks or safety hazards
- Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and managing visitor check-ins
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation of security activities
- Assist with loss prevention efforts by observing and deterring theft or vandalism
- Educate staff and visitors on safety procedures and security policies
- Conduct surveillance operations to prevent unauthorized access or activities
Qualifications
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields is highly desirable
- Knowledge of surveillance systems, CCTV operation, and loss prevention techniques
- Strong observational skills with the ability to identify suspicious behavior quickly
- Excellent communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and professionally
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Must be attentive to detail and dependable in performing routine security duties
- Valid security license or certification as required by local regulations is preferred
