Dell/Canadian Outdoor Services is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our commercial landscape maintenance division. Our commercial landscape maintenance division has been providing exceptional property maintenance across the GTA for over 20 years. Our teams provide unparalleled property maintenance services to our long-standing valued clients.
Our work is primarily commercial landscape maintenance, with occasional landscape enhancement and project work.
This is a full time or seasonal position. Monday - Friday, occasional weekend work.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Drive to and from job sites, in busy traffic; responsible for circle checks and for reviewing day’s work and loading vehicle and landscape trailer with materials
- Occasional pickup and delivery of softscape and hardscape materials
- Manage a crew of up to three people, supervise crew in safe starting, operation,maintenance and transport of various landscaping equipment: lawn mower, line trimmer, back pack blower, hedge trimmer, aerator, and other equipment, as required by projects
- Demonstrate best practices standards in relation to jobs performed, including but not limited to: turf maintenance, garden cultivation and weeding, sodding, perennial, shrub, tree, annual and bulb planting, hedge trimming and selective pruning, spring and fall property clean ups, soil work and over seeding, etc.
- Promote safety, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and demonstrate hazard awareness at all times
- Complete required paperwork and report materials used
- Participate in meetings
- Be prepared to start work on time (6:45am) and to work extended hours as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous commercial landscaping experience 3-5 years
- Previous supervisory experience 1-2 years
- Post-secondary horticultural education or equivalent experience
- Full G license with clean record, comfortable driving in busy traffic; driver history report
- Valid CPR/First Aid certificate would be an asset
- Focused on team work and excellent problem solving abilities.
- Capable of performing physical labour in various weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Capable of driving a truck equipped with landscape trailer
- Comply with all company policies and regulations.
- Proficient in operating commercial landscape maintenance equipment.
- Capable of understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.
Reliable transportation is not only required, but is necessary to be considered for employment. Public Transportation to the office is NOT available.
Compensation: $27 - $30 per hour depending on experience
