Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Local Class 1 Driver to join our FT Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating our trucks, ensuring timely delivery of our Aggregate products. 80% of our loads are going up to the Edmonton area and our drivers are home every night. We take all weekends off. This is a full time year around position which offers benefits at 1 year and a matching savings account at 3 years. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while maintaining fuel efficiency and safety standards
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and load to identify any issues or maintenance needs
- Document delivery details accurately in logs and reports and our apps; including load details, delivery times, and any incidents during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record. Please provide your driving abstract with your resume.
- Proven experience in commercial driving. A minimum of 3 years of Class 1 driving experience.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks with a strong understanding of vehicle controls and safety procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and agility to safely climb on your trailer to check and spray the box when needed.
- Ability to take pride in your unit and keep it clean inside and out.
- Strong physical stamina for loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
