**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant for a Family Physician. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to our medical office by ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow. The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, requiring strong communication skills, proficiency in electronic medical records, and a passion for delivering top-notch patient care.
**Duties:** -
- Greet and welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner, responding to their inquiries and addressing any concerns.
- Manage the front desk, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and handling patient paperwork.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing charts, processing medical records, and updating patient information.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMRs) systems such as Accuro to manage patient data and perform various tasks. -
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct various clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with medical procedures. -
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology and procedures. -
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless communication and efficient patient care. -
- Maintain a clean and organized office environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Operate various office equipment, including phone systems and computers.
**Requirements:** -
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in a medical administrative field AND related experience
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems, such as Accuro.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with office software and phone systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Physical stamina to perform clinical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
