About the Role
Regency Plastics is a high-volume plastics manufacturer operating extrusion, flexographic printing, and converting equipment.
We are seeking an experienced, licensed 433A Industrial Millwright for a hands-on role focused on troubleshooting, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and supporting production across the plant.
This position is suited to a mechanically strong millwright who can take ownership of difficult equipment problems, identify the root causes of recurring failures, and implement lasting solutions.
Depending on experience and demonstrated leadership ability, the successful candidate may also help organize maintenance priorities, guide other maintenance employees, improve repair standards, and strengthen our preventive-maintenance program.
Compensation within the range will reflect the candidate’s relevant experience, technical capability, equipment knowledge, leadership background, and ability to take ownership of equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment across extrusion, printing, converting, and supporting plant operations.
- Diagnose recurring equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Take ownership of repair quality, equipment reliability, and maintenance follow-through.
- Prioritize work based on safety, production impact, equipment risk, and urgency.
- Remain actively involved in breakdowns, repairs, installations, rebuilds, and equipment improvements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Work with bearings, shafts, gearboxes, drives, pumps, conveyors, cylinders, and related mechanical assemblies.
- Support complex machine setups and improve setup stability and consistency.
- Complete preventive-maintenance inspections and planned repairs.
- Coordinate effectively with production supervisors, operators, electricians, contractors, suppliers, and management.
- Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance employees and setup personnel.
- Identify when equipment requires repair, modification, replacement, or specialized outside support.
- Assist management in evaluating repair options, replacement parts, contractors, and equipment requirements.
- Maintain high standards for safety, workmanship, organization, and professionalism.

- Is dependable, organized, practical, and able to work independently.
- Takes pride in improving equipment performance and maintenance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic Millwright 433A licence.
- At least five years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
- Experience maintaining production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and parts diagrams.
- Ability to safely install, align, repair, rebuild, and commission industrial machinery.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work overtime when operationally required.
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:
- Leading, coordinating, or training maintenance employees.
- Improving machine reliability and reducing recurring downtime.
- Developing or improving preventive-maintenance systems.
- Plastic-film extrusion equipment.
- Flexographic printing equipment.
- Wicketing, side-weld, bottom-seal, or other bag-making equipment.
- High-speed packaging, printing, web-handling, food-processing, or converting equipment.
- Equipment installation, modification, rebuilding, or commissioning.
- Working with equipment manufacturers, contractors, and parts suppliers.
Direct plastics experience is an asset but is not required. Strong candidates from packaging, food production, printing, automotive, converting, and other high-speed manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
