Our client is seeking a Bilingual Labour Relations Advisor to provide expert guidance on employee and labour relations matters in both unionized and non-unionized environments. This role is central to fostering positive labour relations, ensuring legislative compliance, supporting workplace investigations, and partnering with leadership to manage complex and sensitive HR matters.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation
- Lead and manage complex workplace investigations
- Support performance management, attendance management, and disciplinary processes
- Facilitate accommodations and return-to-work plans
- Collaborate with union representatives and support grievance processes
- Assist in collective bargaining preparation
- Ensure compliance in sensitive employment actions, including terminations
- Coordinate organizational responses to external agencies
- Contribute to HR policy development and employee engagement initiatives
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience advising on employee and labour relations matters in unionized and non-unionized environments
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Collaborative relationship-builder with strong stakeholder management skills
- Post-secondary education in HR or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Progressive HR experience; CHRP designation preferred
- Career focus in Employee and Labour Relations with strong knowledge of applicable legislation
- Bilingual fluency in French and English (must have)
- Eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance from the Government of Canada
