About the role
The District Relationship Manager (DRM) is responsible for managing and marketing assigned dealer relationships. This team member will provide quality customer service by satisfying the business needs of the customers and GM Financial. This team member`s overall responsibility will be to develop dealer relationships, train dealer staff to generate contracts according to GM Financials established credit risk and profitability models. Other duties include taking corrective actions through direction of RSM, in managing DAV's with Dealers and tough credit and funding situations. In addition to the Dealer relationship component the District Relationship Manager is to work closely with the District Sales Managers of GMCL to coordinate field activities where possible.
In this role you will:
Proven ability to manage and grow a sales territory, meeting or exceeding forecasted retail lease and loan volume targets.
Strong dealer relationship management skills, including coaching, performance improvement planning, and regular field engagement.
Experience analyzing dealer performance data, forecasting results, and developing actionable plans to improve profitability and efficiency.
Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans based on competitive and market analysis.
Strong collaboration skills to liaise with Regional Sales Managers, internal teams, and dealer partners.
Effective communication and presentation skills for delivering training, conducting dealer meetings, and representing the brand externally.
High level of organization and discipline in maintaining CRM records, visit logs, forecasts, and expense reporting.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently, with comfort working independently in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
What makes You an ideal candidate?
- Solid knowledge of the Canadian consumer auto finance industry including knowledge of Canadian leasing and retail.
- Knowledge of loan aggregator systems (portals) is required.
- Knowledge of consumer lending policies and procedures.
- Understanding level capability in product marketing and programs.
- Capable of planning and prioritization within the territory.
- Strong level capability with relationship building.
- Strong coaching and training skills at a Dealer level.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Advanced oral and written communication capability.
- Travel - occasionally Interruptions - Occasionally Weather-frequent.
Unhappy Customers / Dealers (verbal/letter confrontations).

Education & Work Experience
- Secondary School - required. Bachelors preferred.
- Experience in automotive financial segment with a focused discipline in sales.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field.
Automotive Lending background including credit.
