Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic nurse to join our team as the manager for our North Island Home Care (home support) services. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient/resident/client care along with professional management skills. This position would be part-time as well as casual coverage for Golden Grove Care Home Long-term care home. During your scheduled time, you would be paid for being on-call as well.
Duties for Management of North Island Home Care
- Management of HCA's working for our clients out in the community.
- Complete client admissions and discharges.
- Create schedules for both clients and staff.
- Experience with Excel and Quickbooks is preferred but not mandatory.
- Create comprehensive care plans for each client and updating as needed.
- Support employees and clients with activities of daily living and ensure comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, clients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
Duties for Casual LPN at Golden Grove Care Home
- Specific nursing duties such as care planning, nursing assessments, medication management, wound care, etc.
- Physician and pharmacy correspondence
- Checking daily e-mail
- Over seeing staff and solving any issues that arise including staff scheduling.
- Updating resident care plans as care needs change.
- Ordering supplies, groceries, medications
- Ensuring daily activities are planned for residents
- Management of the care home up to Island Health licensing expectations, etc.
Qualifications
- Valid LPN license
- Standard First Aid
- Tuberculosis screening
- Strong patient care skills with an emphasis on compassion and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and handle multiple priorities efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Experience working with seniors is desirable
