The Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning is seeking qualified individuals to fill multiple Child Care Coordinator (CCC) positions within the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Division, within the Provincial Operations branch. ELCC holds the authority to ensure operational legislated compliance of all licensed child care services in Manitoba to support the provision of safe, accessible, affordable and high quality child care services for families. The Division develops and administers legislation, regulations, best practices, policies, procedures and new initiatives, and makes recommendations regarding multi-year planning.
Duties:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Licensing & Compliance, with the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Division, the Child Care Coordinator (CCC) is responsible for duties related to the delivery of the ELCC program including, the development of/and initial licensing of new child care facilities; expansion of existing child care facilities to increase licensed child care spaces; annual re-licensing of child care facilities; ongoing monitoring and reporting regarding compliance with legislation and policies; assessment and quality enhancement of child care facilities; development and delivery of child care resources and information to child care providers, parents and community groups; consultation on child care facility design guidelines; board development and governance structure; knowledge of sector best practices and related programming; and consultation on annual child care facility budgets.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or Developmental Studies and Early Childhood Educator III certification. Other suitable combinations of education may be considered at an underfill or commensurate classification and salary level.
- Extensive experience in a childcare centre, nursery school or family child care setting.
- Excellent observation skills with the ability to notice, analyze and discern information for the purposes of ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of diverse groups and individuals.
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and policies.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) or similar software applications.
- Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Desired:
- Knowledge and understanding of Early Learning and Child Care in Manitoba.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

- Must possess a valid full class 5 Manitoba Driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends, on occasion
- Must be able to travel within the Province of Manitoba, as required
