Hours of Work: Permanent, Full-Time – 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: $27.54 per hour – Grid 11, Step 1

About the Program - Employment Services
Our customized Employment Services program focuses on matching individuals with developmental disabilities to purposeful employment opportunities. Through a personalized process, our job coaches explore individual abilities and interests, connecting them with suitable employment options. Our job developers collaborate with employers to identify tasks that align with both the employer's needs and the participant's potential, fostering increased independence and meaningful employment. Whether you're seeking to develop skills or looking to hire someone special, our Supported Employment Services are here to facilitate positive and inclusive employment experiences.
Required qualifications includes the following:
- A diploma in Human services, Social work, business administration, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- One-year recent experience in employment services or social services field, specifically in job development and case management.
- One-year experience Developmental Disabilities an asset.
- Competency in Microsoft word, Outlook and Excel.
Other Skills and Abilities:
The Vocational Counsellor supports clients in achieving their creative, learning, and employment goals by assessing needs, identifying skills and passions, and developing personalized plans. They apply knowledge of current community-based employment trends, provide guidance in personal care while maintaining professional boundaries, and maintain accurate client records. This role involves building positive relationships with community partners, delivering targeted training, connecting clients to resources, and advocating on their behalf. Strong communication, time management, organizational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills are essential for effectively supporting clients and collaborating within the team.
