GRW is hiring an experienced Superintendent to lead crews through the full life cycle of geohazard mitigation projects. This role is hands-on and field-based, requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to GRW’s core values: Safety, Integrity, and Camaraderie.
The Superintendent owns daily jobsite activities and productivity outcomes, supports project execution, and ensures quality work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Leadership
- Direct day-to-day field operations, ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and to spec
- Follow all GRW safety initiatives, standards, and Health & Safety Program requirements
- Lead by example with a servant leadership mindset
- Hold daily safety meetings and ensure crews understand task hazards and maintain PPE compliance
- Perform daily equipment inspections and maintain safe work practices
- Train crew members on all onsite duties and safe work procedures
- Monitor productivity and crew performance, addressing issues in real time
- Support Operations Manager in identifying crew resources for current and future projects
Project Execution
- Review project documents prior to project start
- Install geohazard mitigation products per drawings and SOPs
- Monitor schedules, materials, deliveries, equipment, and costs
- Coordinate travel plans with Operations and Project Management
- Build job pack lists with Procurement and gain approval from the Operations Manager
Documentation & Quality Control
- Ensure all work complies with design, QA/QC standards, and client requirements
- Perform field-level inspections and documentation
- Submit accurate and timely daily field notes, progress updates, drill logs, photos, and safety documentation
Equipment & Maintenance
- Operate, maintain, and repair equipment within capability
- Support higher-level repairs with GRW team members as needed
- Maintain clean and organized vehicles, equipment, and jobsite areas
Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory experience on geotechnical, mining, remote construction, rope access, and/or heavy civil projects
- SPRAT or IRATA Level 3 Certification
- 1+ year operating pneumatic/hydraulic rock drills including top hammer drills and down-the-hole (DTH) hammer drills
- Experience with soil nail installation, casing drilling experience (asset), experience running excavator mounted drill rigs (asset) , experience running a grout plant
- Deep understanding of field construction workflows, geohazard mitigation, and remote logistics.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and situational awareness in dynamic job site conditions.
- Safety-first mindset with working knowledge of provincial/federal safety regulations.
- Competent Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) for field reporting.
- Familiar with reading engineered drawings
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Strong working knowledge of materials used on geohazard mitigation projects

Pay: $50.00-$65.00 per hour
