Job Summary
CARSTAR Etobicoke Central is a Tesla-certified collision repair facility serving the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team and help deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience working on various types of vehicles and heavy equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all vehicles and machinery operate safely and efficiently.
Duties
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vehicles and heavy equipment using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Repair or replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and electrical systems
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery for maintenance or repair purposes
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to complete repairs efficiently
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs
- Conduct inspections to ensure safety standards are met and vehicles or machinery are operating optimally
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment
- Assist with assembly or installation of new machinery or components as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair needs and solutions clearly to clients
Qualifications
- Licensed Automotive Service Technician (310S) preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of automotive repair experience.
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems and maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software
- Mechanical knowledge across various systems including HVAC, electrical systems, industrial equipment, and mechanical assemblies
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to automotive repair or heavy equipment operation are advantageous
- Experience working with Tesla vehicles or electric vehicles is an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, technical abilities, certifications, and familiarity with Tesla, EV, and OEM repair procedures.
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
