Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and proficiency in electronic medical records systems. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and providing exceptional patient service.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or similar dental software
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Collect payments and process billing transactions efficiently
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of medical information
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth workflow throughout the day
- Handle correspondence, respond to patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service
Skills
- Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental office setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and office procedures
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Tracker
- Experience with medical or dental office administrative tasks and front desk operations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
