Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest quality standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking methods, food safety practices, and kitchen protocols.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and styles of cuisine.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
