As a Specialized Education Technician, you play a key role in providing services to students within the Student Experience Directorate at LaSalle College. You advise and support both students and frontline colleagues. In your role, you intervene both in individual assistance and collective support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the first line to respond to psychosocial support requests from students (requests from students directly, teachers, or administrative staff);
- Implement the accommodations recommended by the advisor;
- Ensure regular follow-up with students, develop their autonomy;
- Support the student in learning: strategies, specialized software, adapted materials;
- Develop students' social skills;
- Ensure coordination and follow-up with teachers (if applicable);
- Complete the intervention/home plan;
- Accompany students experiencing panic attacks during an exam period;
- Perform any other related tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) with an appropriate specialization, particularly in social work, or have a recognized equivalent diploma;
- 3 years of relevant experience related to the position;
- Proficiency in French language (spoken and written);
- Professional proficiency in English language (spoken and written).
This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
