About
This entry-level construction role is an excellent opportunity for new graduates looking to begin their career in steel construction. The Field Coordinator acts as a vital link between construction crews, clients, and management, supporting the coordination of steel erection project under the guidance of senior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Client and Team Coordination
- Act as liaison between Client Representatives and Field Crews
- Support Foreman and field crews with required information and resources
- Facilitate communication between field crews, engineering, project management and fabrication teams
Project Coordination & Monitoring
- Assist in field coordination and execution of planned activities
- Monitor project impacts; document and escalate to Management
- Submit daily reports
- Track manhours and equipment usage for work tasks
- Transfer records to timesheets; obtain client signature when needed
- Perform inspections at regular intervals as instructed
Logistics & Safety
- Coordinate deliveries of structural steel, materials, and equipment
- Monitor safety compliance
- Oversee material handling and storage on job sites
- Coordinate crane operations and planning activities
- Maintain detailed project documentation and progress reports
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
- 0–3 years of construction experience (ideal for recent graduates)
- Co-op placements or internships considered an asset
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of construction principles
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications (training provided)
- Strong computer skills; willingness to learn construction software
- Interest in learning rigging, crane operations, and heavy equipment
- Experience with construction management software systems is an asset
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Working at Heights (preferred)
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in outdoor construction environments
- Comfortable working at heights and around heavy machinery
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders
- Tolerance for varying weather conditions

Working Conditions
- Standard construction hours: overtime may be required
