Company Overview:
A leading manufacturer specializing in the custom production of high-quality industrial fans, is seeking a skilled Draftsman to join our team. We serve a diverse range of industries and are committed to innovation and precision engineering.
Responsibilities – Drafting and Design:
- Install, assemble, align, and commission industrial fans, blowers, and ventilation equipment.
- Install ductwork, dampers, silencers, and supporting structures.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial fan systems.
- Replace bearings, belts, shafts, impellers, motors, and other mechanical components.
- Balance fan assemblies and perform alignment using precision measuring tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and installation specifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with millwrights, electricians, welders, and project teams during installations.
- Ensure all work complies with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements and company safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and installation records.
- Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other equipment safely (training/certification an asset).
- Travel to customer sites as required for installations and service work
Qualifications:
- Experience installing and servicing industrial fans, blowers, or HVAC/mechanical equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of rotating equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Experience with bearing replacement, shaft alignment, and belt drive systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Forklift, Working at Heights, and Elevated Work Platform certifications are assets.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Comfortable working at heights and in industrial manufacturing environments.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday with occasional overtime as required.
