Senior Reliability Engineer
Position Status: Full Time – 2-year Contract with possibility of extension

This is a full-time permanent role reporting directly to the Client Manager – Asset Care.
Responsibilities:
As the Reliability Engineer with our Company, you will be responsible for improving the reliability, availability, maintainability, and operational performance of critical infrastructure systems and assets for the transportation industry. The Reliability Engineer supports lifecycle asset management strategies through data-driven maintenance optimization, root cause analysis, predictive technologies, and collaboration with our client the GTAA, and their Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Project Delivery teams. The primary responsibilities of the role will be but are not limited to:
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and reliability assessments for recurring failures and operational interruptions.
- Analyze CMMS, operational and maintenance data to identify trends, failures, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development and implementation of corrective actions to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime.
- Develop and optimize preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and condition-based maintenance programs to ensure that maintenance strategies align with operational, safety, and life cycle objectives.
- Support the lifecycle asset management initiatives including obsolescence planning, asset renewal strategies, and lifecycle cost analysis.
- Provide technical input to capital projects while collaborating with engineering teams to ensure new assets align with operational and maintenance requirements.
- Lead DMAIC-driven asset care initiatives to improve equipment reliability and up time by analyzing failure data, optimizing maintenance strategies, implementing predictive and preventive solutions, and sustaining reliability gains through KPI monitoring and standardized control processes.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or mechatronics engineering or related discipline
- 7 to 10 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering or asset management within complex environments.
- Knowledge of reliability methodologies such as: RCA, FMEA / FMECA and RCM.
- Experience with Kaizen methodologies or Six Sigma principles an asset.
- Familiarity with asset lifecycle management and maintenance strategies.
- Strong data analysis skills to assess reliability trends and failure patterns. Proven ability to identify failure causes and implement corrective actions.
- Experience in software such as computerized maintenance management systems (CMMs).
- Strong cross functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, safety and engineering teams.
- Professional Engineering (P. Eng) designation (an asset).
- CMRP or Reliability Certification (is preferred).
- Experience with asset management certification or ISO 55000 knowledge.
- Analytical mindset, high capacity, results oriented and the ability to deliver under pressure.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- A highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, while being a team player.
- Valid G class driver’s license and personal transportation to travel to customer job sites required.
- Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance and or Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) Clearance is required.
About your working environment:
- Will be required to wear protective equipment in designated areas such as hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed safety boots.
- May be exposed to cold, heat and humidity, loud noise levels, and dust.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
- Local travel (Greater Toronto Area).
Compensation: Base pay: $110,000 – $125,000. The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills and qualifications. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
