Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dermatology LPN to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing with experience in dermatology, providing exceptional patient care. This role involves working closely with patients to assess their needs, administer treatments and educate them about skin health.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' dermatological conditions and medical histories.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist in various dermatological procedures, including biopsies and laser treatments.
- Provide patient education on skincare regimens, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient for any adverse reactions or complications related to treatments.
- Ensure compliance to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
- Participate in case management for patients requiring ongoing dermatological care.
- Assist with clinical trials.
Skills
- A valid nursing license.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, phlebotomy, and medication administration is essential but not a must.
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or senior care is a plus.
- Laboratory experience may be beneficial for assisting with diagnostic procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse patient populations are required.
