SUMMARY: Reporting to the Recreation Manager and the Aquatics Coordinator, the Front Desk/Cashier is responsible for the professional operation of the reception area of the Multi-Purpose Facility. This person will accept admissions, maintain security of the public foyer areas, and ensure a high level of customer service.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide excellent customer service

Respond to public inquiries

Provide information regarding facility programs and services

Answer telephone and serve as reception for multi-purpose facility

Including recreation office

Pool

Receive and record cash for admissions, rentals, program sessions and resale items in accordance with policy and procedure
-
Cash out at end of shift
-
Prepare cash sheets
-
Report any cash or inventory discrepancies to pool clerk immediately
-
Maintain booking registration and rental systems
-
Accept bookings and registrations and advise senior guard and aquatic coordinator
-
maintain security of foyer area and control access to change rooms and washrooms
-
Report any disturbances or loitering concerns to senior guard, aquatic coordinator or police
Notify patrons regarding expiring passes, upcoming programs and rentals

Call and/or leave messages outstanding from dayshift
-
Maintain a "goods for resale" system
-
Ensure proper items are being sold in perfect mind
-
Record incident, accident, and injury reports
-
Maintain cleanliness of work area and specified areas of facility
-
Set up meeting rooms for rentals and clean up afterward
-
Monitor and clean public washrooms and foyer area during shift
-
Provide custodial services of sweeping, wiping down surfaces, removal of garbage, cleaning window/door glass as scheduled

Check front walks for safety and tidiness

Vacuum rug in office areas as scheduled

Advise supervisor of supplies needed

Refer to front desk maintenance sheets schedule

Follow front desk maintenance sheet schedule

Advise aquatic coordinator of facility maintenance required

Maintain and keep current filing system for forms, logs, correspondence and reports
-
Ensure all files are being filed in one place and kept organized
-
Provide recommendations to supervisor regarding cash handling, inventory, invoicing, and booking policies and procedures

Be familiar with and adhere to all policies and procedures
-
Attend meetings and training as required

Assist with emergency response procedures as required

Work together with all staff in a team effort, stressing cooperation and communication
-
Assist with emergent or unforeseen duties as required.
