Glen Hill Terrace is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our long-term care team on a part-time basis. If you are passionate about providing high-quality care to seniors and thrive in a collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Care, the RPN plays a key role in delivering safe, effective, and resident-centered care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards, applicable legislation, and Glen Hill Terrace policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established standards, physicians’ orders, and care plans
- Assess residents and contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
- Monitor and document residents’ conditions and respond to changes appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Supervise and support Personal Support Workers and other care staff
- Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents, families, and staff
- Adhere to infection prevention & control, occupational health & safety, and Ministry compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience in long-term care or gerontology preferred
- Knowledge of RAI-MDS and clinical documentation systems
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to resident-centered care and teamwork
- Leadership experience or training considered an asset
The successful candidate will be required to provide a current vulnerable sector screening, acceptable proof of compliance with the Glen Hill Terrace's Coronavirus Immunization Policy, as well as the 2-step TB test or Chest X-ray, in compliance with the Ministry of Long-Term Care
