Dishwasher (Part-Time)
Location: The Market Bistro
Hours: 25–30 hours per week
Position Summary
The Market Bistro is looking for a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. The Dishwasher plays an important role in maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment while supporting the overall operation of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Ensure all dishes and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area.
- Empty garbage and recycling containers and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Clean floors, sinks, walls, and other kitchen areas as required.
- Assist with basic kitchen cleaning duties and closing procedures.
- Help receive and organize deliveries when required.
- Restock cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Support kitchen staff with general cleaning and maintenance tasks during slower periods.
Qualifications
- Previous dishwashing or restaurant experience is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a warm, fast-paced kitchen environment.
