Mad Mexican is seeking a motivated and hands-on Production Team Leader to support daily production operations and lead frontline team members on the plant floor. This role is critical to ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards.
The Production Team Leader acts as a key link between production staff and management, supporting workflow execution, team performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role
The Production Team Leader is responsible for leading and supporting production staff during assigned shifts. This includes coordinating workflow, monitoring production performance, enforcing safety and quality standards, and supporting employee development.
This role ensures accurate completion of production documentation, supports food safety and GMP compliance, and contributes to a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment. Full Job Description
What you will be doing:
- Lead and support production staff by communicating job expectations, monitoring workflow, and coaching team members
- Participate in staffing activities, including onboarding and training of new employees
- Monitor each step of the production process to ensure efficiency, quality, and proper use of equipment and resources
- Assign daily tasks, set priorities, monitor progress, and complete shift production summaries
- Uphold product quality by enforcing organizational standards and established quality controls
- Identify equipment issues, report concerns, and coordinate with maintenance as required
- Compile production data, maintain accurate records, and respond to internal inquiries
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and workflow efficiency
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment through training and enforcement of safety and sanitation standards
- Foster positive working relationships within the production team and across departments
- Support conflict resolution by investigating concerns and escalating issues when required
- Ensure compliance with applicable workplace policies and procedures
- Ensure production activities comply with GMP, HACCP, and food manufacturing standards
- Ensure accurate completion of CCP records and other required production documentation
- Perform additional duties as required to support plant operations
What you will bring
- 2+ years of working-lead or team-lead experience in food manufacturing
- Comfortable working on the production line every day while taking ownership of a small team
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting
- Working knowledge of food safety, GMP, and production processes
- Experience in GMP/HACCP environments is an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
Schedule and Compensation
- Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
- Location: 64 Crockford Boulevard, Scarborough, ON, M1R 3C3
- Start Rate: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
- Work Shifts: Morning shift, Monday to Thursday, approximately 5:30 AM – 2:30 PM (occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on production needs)
