Overview

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and skid steers. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform various construction-related tasks safely and efficiently. The Equipment Operator will play a vital part in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects by operating equipment with precision and adhering to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other related equipment
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and other scopes of work
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and meet project deadlines
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing minor repairs when necessary
- Drive commercial vehicles as needed for transporting equipment or materials around the site

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other related equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license, class 1 or 3 an asset
- Strong understanding of oilfield and construction site safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads when required
- Prior experience in construction or heavy equipment operation is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates interested in developing their skills
- Fluent in English (writing and speaking)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
