Qualifications Required
- Current Standard First Aid & Infant/Child CPR-C Certification
- Professional references are required
- Physical ability to do the duties required.
- Medical clearance and immunization record as required by the local Minister of Health
- Valid Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening)
- Ability to travel between programs (access to a car may be necessary)

Additional Skills
Ability to be flexible and work in different environments and programs. Be able to work as a team with other staff and parents. Assist Early Childhood Educators or supervisors in keeping records, Maintain childcare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
Early Childhood Educators Specific Skills
Implement and (where needed) develop child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, Knowledge ofCCEYA and licensing regulations, Establish guidelines for behaviour, Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

A variety of programs including Child care centre, Kindergarten, Before and after school programs

Fulltime 35 hours/week and must be flexible to work between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. (Split shift)
