Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Load Broker / Freight Brokerage Sales Representative to join our growing logistics team. This role is responsible for developing shipper relationships, setting up new customers and carriers, sourcing freight opportunities, bidding on lanes, and covering loads with reliable carriers.
The ideal candidate has experience in freight brokerage, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build long-term relationships with shippers and carriers while maximizing profitability and service performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesFreight Brokerage & Sales
- Source and secure freight opportunities from shippers and load boards
- Bid on freight lanes and negotiate competitive rates with customers
- Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, receivers, and carriers
- Prospect and onboard new customers and carrier partners
- Sell and cover loads with qualified carriers
- Negotiate freight rates and maximize load profitability
Operations & Documentation
- Verify carrier compliance documents, insurance, and setup packets
- Process rate confirmations, bills of lading (BOLs), and proof of deliveries (PODs)
- Monitor shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance
Qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage, logistics coordination, dispatching, or transportation sales
- Strong knowledge of load boards, freight bidding, and lane pricing
- Experience setting up shippers, receivers, and carriers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of U.S. and Canada cross-border freight is an asset
