Senior HR Generalist / Talent Acquisition Partner
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior HR Generalist / Talent Acquisition Partner to join our Human Resources team. The Senior HR Generalist / Talent Acquisition Partner leads full-cycle recruitment and provides experienced People & Culture support to Corporate Office and Retail. This role is intended for a strong HR professional who can help build the HR function from the ground up, support managers through complex people matters, conduct lower-to-moderate risk workplace investigations, and contribute to scalable people practices as River Cree Ventures grows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead full-cycle recruitment from intake meeting through posting, sourcing, screening, interview process, references, pre-employment checks, offer support, and hiring handoff.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview criteria, recruitment timelines, and selection approach.
- Maintain candidate pipeline tracking and provide clear updates to leaders and candidates.
- Support employer branding, inclusive hiring practices, candidate experience, and recruitment process improvement.
- Support executive or specialized recruitment only as assigned by the Director.
- Employee Relations, Investigations & Manager Support
- Provide practical day-to-day employee relations advice to Corporate and Retail leaders within approved guardrails.
- Support manager intake, policy interpretation, attendance management, performance management, discipline preparation, coaching conversations, and escalation triage.
- Conduct assigned lower-to-moderate risk workplace investigations from intake through findings, including interview planning, witness interviews, evidence review, documentation, and written recommendations.
- Escalate high-risk, legal-risk, harassment/discrimination, executive-level, termination-sensitive, accommodation, compensation, or organizational structure matters to the Director.
- Draft or support employee relations documentation, including investigation summaries, coaching notes, discipline drafts, and manager guidance.
- Support development of people processes, templates, checklists, knowledge resources, HR communications, and consistent manager tools.
- Help identify gaps in recruitment, onboarding, documentation, employee relations, and manager support practices.
- Contribute to policy rollout, engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and culture-building work.
- Support internal mobility, transfers, job description development, and employee lifecycle coordination with HR Operations.
- Work closely with HR Operations and HR Coordinators to ensure clean handoffs, strong documentation, and reliable follow-through.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years progressive HR generalist experience.
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle recruitment experience.
- Experience with employee relations, investigations, performance management, and manager coaching.
- Knowledge of Alberta employment standards, human rights principles, and HR documentation practices.
- Experience with Indigenous organizations, retail, hospitality, construction, health, or multi-entity environments is an asset.
