Service Director – Small Options Homes and ILS Programs

Regular Position: This is a full-time regular position
POSITION SCOPE:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, and reporting in conjunction with the Director of Operations, the Service Director is responsible for the efficient operation of programs and services delivered to people, in accordance with the philosophy, policies and procedures of the agency. The Service Director provides leadership, direction and performance management to ensure a sound staff team and high quality of programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or a related field, with a minimum of two years’ experience in a related role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience totaling six years in the human services sector.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Human Rights Remedy process, disability rights, inclusion, and person-directed support practices.
3. Strong understanding of Supported Decision-Making principles, with the ability to promote individual choice, autonomy, self-determination, and meaningful participation for people receiving support.
4. Proven ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen trusting, respectful, and supportive relationships with people supported, their families, guardians, advocates, and community partners.
5. Experience leading and supporting organizational change initiatives, including the ability to effectively communicate change, engage stakeholders, and support teams through transition.
6. Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing within a unionized environment, including the interpretation and application of collective agreements, organizational policies, and employment-related practices.
7. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals, teams, community partners, and external stakeholders.
8. Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
9. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability and sound professional judgment.
10. Flexible, adaptable, and willing to assume a variety of responsibilities in response to organizational and operational needs.
11. Demonstrated leadership abilities with a commitment to fostering collaboration, employee engagement, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
12. Ability to make sound decisions, exercise sound judgment, and respond effectively during crisis situations and complex service-related challenges.
13. Ability to interpret and apply organizational policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and best practices relevant to the disability support sector.
14. Proficient knowledge of assessments, skill development strategies, positive behavior supports, and person-centered planning, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of Behavioral Support Plans and PATHs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
15. Comprehensive knowledge of community-based, and person-directed support services for individuals with diverse abilities and complex support needs.
16. Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusion, dignity, respect, human rights, and quality of life outcomes for people receiving support.
17. Proficiency in computer applications, documentation systems, and reporting requirements relevant to service delivery and program management.
18. Valid Driver’s License, $2,000,000.00 General Liability Insurance, Driver’s Abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle that can be used for work-related purposes.
Hours of Work: Full Time 40 hrs./week

Meetings and activities may be scheduled over and above normal working hours.
Salary: In accordance with salary scale.
