Job Summary
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the cake production team.
- Coordinate production schedules to ensure products are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Assign tasks and monitor workflow to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and support team members in production techniques, food safety, and company procedures.
- Ensure consistency in product quality, presentation, and adherence to recipes and specifications.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate ingredient and supply needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production environment.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime and waste.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the production process.
- Collaborate with other production departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Assist with hands-on cake production and decorating as needed.
- Monitor team performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and team performance.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a commercial bakery, pastry kitchen, or food production environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a production setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cake production techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage production timelines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to product quality and consistency.
- Proficient in maintaining accurate production records and communicating inventory needs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Reliable, accountable, and able to lead by example.
Full time availability and at least one weekend day availability is required
