Stampede Auto is seeking a skilled and experienced Red Seal Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and experience with both gasoline and diesel engines. A background in dealership service or automotive electrical systems is preferred. This position is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction through expert vehicle service and repair.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including powertrain, electrical, suspension, brakes, and alignment
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, and other major components such as ADAS systems and diesel engines
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and welding equipment to complete repairs efficiently
- Conduct vehicle inspections and perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance
- Perform auto body repairs when necessary and assist with vehicle alignment procedures
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings clearly to customers
- Follow safety protocols and ensure all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes
- Dealership experience is highly desirable
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, schematics, and powertrain repair
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, diesel engine repair, auto body repair, and welding techniques
- Familiarity with most vehicles and general vehicle maintenance procedures
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding machinery effectively
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients about repairs needed and completed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Certification or journeyman/journeywoman status in automotive technology is preferred
