Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Backhoe Operator to join our construction team. This role requires mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy machinery, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. The Backhoe Operator will play a vital role in excavation, grading, paving, and other construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate a backhoe
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment usage and project timelines.
- Perform minor mechanical troubleshooting on machinery when necessary.
- Comply with all safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
Skills
- Proven experience operating a backhoe in a construction setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery or similar brands efficiently.
- Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques and paving processes is a plus.
- Valid class 3 license would be an asset
- Familiarity with heavy equipment safety standards and procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
