We are searching for a Director, Financial Planning & Capital Investment to join our team.
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Finance Strategy, the Director, Financial Planning & Capital Investment plays a pivotal role in shaping Shannex’s future growth and financial success. This role leads the evaluation of new business opportunities, capital projects, and strategic investments—delivering the insights that inform high-impact executive decisions.
As a key strategic partner, the Director drives the development of sophisticated financial models supports long-term financial planning, and leads the corporate budgeting processes. They provide leadership in cash flow, debt, and balance sheet forecasting, while ensuring strong financial governance and compliance. Working closely with senior leaders across the organization, the Director delivers forward-looking insights and trusted advice that enable confident decision-making, support growth, and position Shannex for long-term success.

About the Opportunity
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership, including go/no-go financial assessments and risk analysis.
- Support long-term planning, including the five-year plan and ongoing investment reviews.
- Oversee corporate budgeting for home office and shared services, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Lead cash flow, debt, and balance sheet forecasting to support financial strategy and capital requirements.
- Monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strong financial governance, including compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and banking requirements.
- Oversee reporting on capital investments, cash flow, and debt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct regular reviews of capital investments, including post-investment analysis and performance tracking.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Strategy, Asset Management, and other teams to align financial and business objectives.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting, and decision-making capabilities.
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- CPA/CFA designation, or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration
- 8+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or investment analysis
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, capital investment analysis, and long-term financial planning
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for executive decision-making
- Experience with cash flow, debt management, and balance sheet forecasting
- Strong understanding of financial governance, risk management, and compliance requirements
- Experience leading budgeting processes and supporting large-scale organizational planning
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience supporting executive-level discussions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Experience with ERP and planning systems (e.g., Yardi, Adaptive Insights) considered an asset
- Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or multi-site environments considered an asset
