Job Description: Elementary Homeroom Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated Elementary Homeroom Teacher to support students in developing strong literacy skills, including reading and writing, alongside a solid understanding of core academic subjects. The role involves delivering engaging lessons through structured plans, discussions, and demonstrations, while continuously evaluating student progress.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and organize classroom instruction in alignment with the approved curriculum.
- Develop inclusive and engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs and follow the school’s academic program.
- Assess and adapt to each student’s individual learning requirements.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students’ academic, cognitive, or behavioural progress, and provide guidance and recommendations.
- Offer additional academic support by designing and implementing remedial programs where needed.
- Support students’ personal and social development by:
- Promoting leadership, self-confidence, stress management, and decision-making skills.
- Encouraging strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Reporting any concerns related to student safety or well-being, including bullying or abuse, to the school principal.
- Apply modern, effective teaching methods to maximize student learning in a positive environment by:
- Encouraging open communication and critical thinking.
- Modeling and reinforcing positive behaviour and best practices.
- Foster students’ physical, mental, and social growth through structured activities and initiatives.
- Design and administer assessments, including tests, quizzes, and presentations, and assign appropriate homework.
- Evaluate student performance by:
- Completing grading and preparing progress reports.
- Conducting parent-teacher conferences to discuss academic and behavioural progress.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance and student development to ensure learning objectives are achieved.
- Actively contribute to the broader school community by participating in extracurricular activities and promoting a positive school culture.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, including health and safety standards.
Daily Tasks
- Prepare and deliver lessons in accordance with the established curriculum.
- Review and adjust teaching strategies as needed to support student success.
- Administer assessments and assign homework.
- Monitor, track, and report on student progress and development.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and the school principal to enhance instructional practices.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $3,200.00 per month
