Apprentice Glazier
DNO Glass is looking for an Apprentice Glazier to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is developing their trade skills and looking to grow into a Journeyman Glazier role.
The Apprentice Glazier will support installation activities under the direction of Journeymen, Foremen, and Superintendents while gaining hands-on experience with commercial glazing systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of storefront, curtain wall, doors, frames, hardware, and glass.
- Perform basic installations independently when given clear instructions.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, details, and specifications.
- Help with layout, opening verification, frame installation, anchoring, flashing, waterproofing, gasketing, and sealing.
- Support glass replacement and service work.
- Use and maintain tools, equipment, lifts, and fall protection properly.
- Follow all company and site safety procedures.
- Identify site conflicts, material issues, or installation concerns and report them to the Foreman or Superintendent.
- Maintain professional conduct with general contractors, inspectors, other trades, and coworkers.
- Work toward Journeyman-level competency in quality, productivity, safety, and leadership.
Requirements
- Previous glazing or construction experience preferred.
- Enrolled in, or willing to pursue, a glazier apprenticeship.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Willingness to learn and take accountability.
- Ability to work safely at heights and use required PPE.
- Valid driver’s licence preferred.

Advancement
Apprentices are considered for promotion to Journeyman based on demonstrated skill, judgment, reliability, safety performance, and leadership — not just hours accumulated. Positive recommendations from Journeymen, Foremen, and the Superintendent are required for advancement.
