Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder Fitter/Jig Maker to join our manufacturing team. This role involves designing, fabricating, and assembling precision components and jigs to support our production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, mechanical assembly, and CAD/CAM software, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and CAD drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
- Design and modify jigs, fixtures, and tooling to facilitate manufacturing processes
- Program and operate CNC machines including CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and other machining equipment
- Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure parts meet specifications
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop prototypes and improve existing designs
- Maintain quality standards by inspecting finished parts for accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety protocols
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs for designing components and jigs
- Experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, or other CNC equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge including understanding of machining processes and manufacturing principles
- Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to work with various hand tools efficiently
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and mathematical measurements for precise fabrication
- Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools
- Familiarity with assembly processes and the use of CAD for design modifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in a manufacturing setting
