We are seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Community Relationship Specialist to support occupancy growth. This is a full-cycle sales role responsible for generating new leads and guiding prospects through to move-in.
In this role, you will be at the heart of our growth, driving occupancy, building meaningful relationships, and helping future residents find a place they can truly call home. It is a role rooted in storytelling, trust-building, and supporting families through an important life decision, all while living our CARES values every day.
While you will support tours, relationship management, and closing, this role has a strong external focus. A key part of success will come from actively generating new opportunities in the community, building referral networks, and engaging external partners to consistently develop new leads beyond inbound inquiries.
What You’ll Do

- Develop and own referral relationships with hospitals, social workers, community partners, and local organizations to generate ongoing lead flow
- Own the full sales cycle from first conversation to move-in, including tours and guiding families through the decision, ensuring an exceptional experience throughout
- Manage inbound inquiries with timely, thoughtful follow-up
- Maintain a healthy, active pipeline and meet or exceed monthly occupancy targets
- Partner with Marketing on campaigns, events, and initiatives that fuel the pipeline
- Stay close to the local market, including competitor positioning, pricing, and referral source dynamics
What You Bring
- Comfort and care working with an older adult demographic
- A background in Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related service industry
- Minimum 5 years of proven sales success, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
- Demonstrated success in outbound sales, business development, community outreach, or self-generated lead development
- Strong hunter mindset with confidence initiating conversations, networking, and building referral pipelines from the ground up
- Strong ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and close sales
- Experience in retirement living, healthcare, hospitality, real estate, pharmaceutical, or other relationship-driven external sales environments is an asset
- Confidence in networking, presenting, and engaging diverse audiences
- Strong follow-up, organization, and pipeline management skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience with email marketing tools such as Mailchimp or similar for group outreach and campaign delivery
- Experience with Yardi CRM or a similar CRM platform, or the ability to learn quickly
- Comfort with LinkedIn outreach and email sequencing for prospecting and referral source engagement
- Highly organized, self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with leaders in a multidisciplinary environment
Compensation
Base salary plus uncapped commission per move-in. On-target earnings of $90,000–$110,000+ for performers who hit occupancy goals. Top performers consistently earn six figures.
