Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster creativity, literacy, numeracy, and social skills in young children
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management
- Develop individualized learning activities tailored to children’s unique developmental needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention support
- Monitor and assess each child's progress through observations and standardized testing methods to inform instruction and support growth
- Collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists to support children's overall well-being and development
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and organization at all times
- Incorporate diverse teaching strategies such as Montessori methods or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices in early childhood education
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management
- Proficiency in working with children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques that promote positive social interactions
- Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and childcare standards
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively
- Experience working with students requiring special education or early intervention services is a plus
- Knowledge of daycare regulations, private school standards, and Montessori or similar educational frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners using differentiated instruction strategies
