Casual Truck Driver (DZ License)
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Casual Truck Driver with a valid DZ license, a clean driving abstract, and a minimum of 5 years of commercial driving experience in Canada. This is a casual position to support route coverage, deliveries, pickups, and yard operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform route driving as assigned
- Maintain a valid DZ driver’s license at all times
- Load and unload the truck safely and efficiently
- Complete yard moves as required
- Handle shipments including:
- Deliveries to customers
- Cream pickups
- Customer returns
- Use ELD logging systems to meet all legislative and compliance requirements
- Complete all required delivery paperwork and truck maintenance documentation accurately
- Keep the truck clean, including regular washing and interior upkeep
- Notify management promptly of non-working parts, safety concerns, or service requirements
- Perform basic truck maintenance (e.g., fluid checks, lights, tires)
- Drive truck to maintenance facilities or complete truck swaps when required
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and transportation regulations
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid DZ driver’s license
- Minimum 5 years of commercial driving experience in Canada
- Current driver’s abstract with a satisfactory driving record (required)
- Experience using ELD systems
- Knowledge of Canadian transportation regulations
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs as required
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
Work Schedule
- Casual / On-Call position
- 5-20 hours per week, with 45-hour weeks when covering holidays
- Hours scheduled based on operational needs
- Shifts may include early mornings, evenings
