This is a great opportunity for a motivated culinary professional who enjoys early shifts, strong prep habits, and delivering consistent breakfast and lunch service in a remote, team-oriented setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and break down the breakfast and lunch stations and ensure that the equipment is ready for service.
Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch menu items (e.g., eggs, breakfast proteins, pancakes/waffles, potatoes, salads, sandwiches, soups) according to recipes and standards.
Execute timely service during peak breakfast and lunch periods while maintaining quality, portioning, and presentation.
Prepare ingredients and components for service and next-day production, including chopping, batch prep, sauces/dressings, and baking or griddle prep as required.
Monitor food quality and ensure all items are cooked to appropriate temperatures and held/stored safely.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation by cleaning as you go, washing dishes as required, and following all sanitation and food safety procedures.
Communicate and coordinate with the kitchen team and front-of-house to support smooth service, specials, and guest requests/allergies.
Assist with inventory, receiving, and stock rotation, and perform other related tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Proficiency with breakfast and lunch cookery, including egg cookery, griddle work, breakfast proteins, soups/salads, and sandwiches, plus strong knife skills.
- Ability to manage early-morning production and maintain speed and consistency during peak breakfast and lunch service.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Ability to read and follow cooking directions
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
- Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve cooking skills
Training, education and experience
- 1 - 3 years of experience cooking breakfast and lunch in a restaurant, hotel, lodge, or resort environment
