Job Summary:
If you love adventure and a physical challenge, then come on the adventure of a lifetime working in the Yukon wilderness where you will be working in remote areas and traversing rugged terrain to collect valuable data on early-stage exploration targets. Most days your commute to work to work will involve set outs and pick ups with a helicopter.
The main job will be soil sampling which is physically demanding and requires you to be able to hike with a heavy backpack each day, cut helicopter pads, navigate with a GPS, and make good decisions while working alone. Weather in the Yukon can change quickly and it may be sun and blue skies, raining, or evening snowing. Accommodation while working may be hotels, campgrounds, or small remote field camps.
You will be required to bring your own camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, thermarest), work clothes, and hiking boots.
Work Schedule:
You could be working up to 12 hours per day, but most often it is less than that. We aim to have a 28 days on 4 days off schedule but it may vary depending on the project. All rotations will follow the Yukon standards.
Qualifications:
- CPR Level C
- Outdoor experience (backcountry hiking, camping, etc)
- Physically fit
- Team player and have a go-getter attitude
- Previous exploration experience is an asset but not a requirement
- Class 5 Drivers license is an asset but not a requirement
Benefits:
Travel at the beginning of the season, accommodation, and food will be covered while working. A gear allowance will be issued to help offset the expenses of proper footwear, camp gear, and work clothes.
Pay: $300.00-$400.00 per day
